RULES
& REGULATIONS
2007-2008 SEASON
RULE # 1 NO PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 21 IS ALLOWED ON ANY ROSTER.
RULE # 2 ROSTERS WILL CONSIST OF NO MORE THAN 12 PLAYERS. IF A 13TH PLAYER IS ADDED,
A PLAYER MUST BE DROPPED FROM THE ROSTER. ONCE A PLAYER IS DROPPED THEY ARE
INELIGIBLE TO SHOOT FOR ANY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE, AND MUST PAY FULL PRICE TO ATTEND
THE CLAMBAKE.THE TEAM MUST IDENTIFY THE DROPPED SHOOTER AT THE TIME
THE 13TH PLAYER IS ADDED.
RULE # 3 A PLAYER MUST REMAIN ON THE ROSTER OF THE TEAM HE HAS PLAYED HIS FIRST GAME
WITH FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.
RULE # 4 THE DART BOARD SHALL BE SITUATED 5FT. 3IN. FROM THE FLOOR TO THE CENTER OF
THE EYE. THE KICK BOARD IS TO COINCIDE WITH THE SHOOTING LINE IN AN ARC 9FT. FROM THE
CENTER OF THE EYE. THE KICK BOARD SHOULD BE AT LEAST 48IN. LONG AND ½IN. THICK.
RULE # 5 WOOD DART BOARDS ARE THE ONLY BOARDS AUTHORIZED BY THE LEAGUE
AND WIDDY WILL BE THE OFFICIAL DART.
RULE # 6 STARTING TIME WILL BE 7:30 PM WITH A 10-MINUTE GRACE PERIOD.
RULE # 7 ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE FIVE PLAYERS TO START A MATCH. IF A TEAM HAS ONLY
FOUR PLAYERS AT THE END OF THE GRACE PERIOD, THE FIRST GAME IS FORFEITED. THE SECOND
GAME MUST START BY 8:00 PM OR THE MATCH IS FORFEITED.
RULE # 8 EACH TEAM MAY START A MATCH WITH SIX PLAYERS WITH ONLY THE TOP FIVE
SCORES COUNT TO TOTAL. IF YOU ONLY HAVE FIVE PLAYERS, YOU MAY SHOOT WITH FIVE.
THE OTHER TEAM MAY STILL SHOOT SIX PLAYERS AND DROP THEIR LOW SCORE.
HANDICAP 60% OF THE TOP FIVE PLAYERS LISTED ON THE SCORE SHEET FROM BOTH TEAMS.
RULE # 9 ANY TEAM THAT FORFEITS A MATCH WILL LOSE THEIR GOOD FAITH MONEY. THIS
MONEY MUST BE REPLACED WITH THE LEAGUE TRESURER AT THE NEXT MEETING. IF NOT
REPLACED A COURSE OF ACTION WILL BE DECIDED ON BY VOTE.
RULE # 10 IF CIRCUMSTANCES ARISE, SUCH THAT A TEAM CANNOT PLAY ITS SCHEDULED
MATCH, THE TWO TEAMS MUST AGREE AND SET AN ALTERNATE DATE. IT IS ADVISED THAT
THIS OCCUR BEFORE THEIR NEXT SCHEDULED MATCH.
RULE # 11 EACH MATCH WILL CONSIST OF FOUR POINTS IN THE LEAGUE STANDINGS.
ONE POINT FOR EACH GAME PLUS ONE FOR TOTAL POINTS.
RULE # 12 NO TIES. IF A GAME IS TIED AFTER THE NINTH INNING, SHOOT THE TENTH, IF STILL
TIED SHOOT THE ELEVENTH, ECT. THE WINNER OF THAT EXTRA INNING(S) WILL RECEIVE ONE
WIN AND ONE POINT TOWARDS TOTAL POINTS FOR THE MATCH. ONLY THE PLAYERS WHO SHOT
THE TOP FIVE SCORES DURING THAT GAME WILL SHOOT THE EXTRA INNING(S).
NOTE: IF TEAMS ARE TIED FOR TOTAL POINTS FOR THE MATCH, THE TEAMS WILL SHOOT THE
TENTH INNING THE WINNER RECEIVING ONE POINT TOWARDS THE TOTAL. ONLY THE PLAYERS
WHO SHOT THE TOP FIVE SCORES DURING THE THIRD GAME WILL SHOOT THE EXTRA INNING(S).
RULE # 13 THE EYE SHALL BE SHOT PRIOR TO EACH GAME. THE WINNING TEAM HAS CHOICE
OF POSITION. DART MUST STICK IN BOARD, IF NOT THE SHOOTER RE-SHOOTS. EYE TAKES EYE.
RULE # 14 A PLAYER HAS THREE PRACTICE DARTS TO START THE MATCH. NO DARTS SHOULD
BE SHOT AT THE FIRST INNING. THIS IS ONLY FOR THE FIRST GAME A PLAYER SHOOTS IN A MATCH.
RULE # 15 ALL SPLIT WIRES FAVOR THE SHOOTER. HITCH HIKERS DO NOT COUNT MISSED DART.
RULE # 16 - ANY PLAYER INVOLVED IN A GAME CANNOT PARTICIPATE ON ANY BOARD BETWEEN
FRAMES OF AN ONGOING GAME. ANY PLAYER NOT SHOOTING THE GAME MAY PRACTICE ON
ANOTHER BOARD AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE GAME IN PROGRESS.
RULE # 17 ORIGINAL SCORE SHEETS MUST BE SENT TO THE LEAGUE RECORDS KEEPER FROM
THE HOME TEAM. THIS SHEET PLUS $5.00 SHALL BE SENT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MATCH IS
SHOT. IF A TEAM FOREITS THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY THE $5 FEE. IF THE RECORDS KEEPER
DOES NOT RECEIVE THE SCORE SHEET BY SUNDAY 3PM FOLLOWING A MATCH, THE HOME TEAM
WILL BE FINED $5. IF THE RECORDS KEEPER DOES NOT RECEIVE THE MISSING SHEET OR COPY BY
THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY THE HOME TEAM WILL RECEIVE FORFEITS FOR
LOSING THE SHEET.
RULE # 18 ALL TEAMS MUST PARTICIPATE IN LEAGUE FUND RAISING PROJECTS.
RULE # 19 REGULAR MEETING WILL BE ONCE BI-MONTHLY ON THE SECOND TUESDAY AT 8:00 PM.
ALL DUES WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE MEETING IN ADVANCE FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS AT
A MINIMUM OF
$100 PER MEETING. **IF A
FOR A COURSE OF ACTION, RANGING FROM VERBAL WARNING, UP TO AND INCLUDING DISMISSAL
FROM THE LEAGUE.
RULE # 20 THE TOTAL DUES FOR THE SEASON IS $350 AND
MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY THE FEB. MEETING.
ANY TEAM NOT PAID IN FULL, INCLUDING FINES, WILL FORFIET UNTIL PAID. IF A TEAM FORFIETS FOR
ANY REASON THEY WILL ALSO LOSE THEIR GOOD FAITH MONEY.
RULE # 21 EACH TEAM REP. WILL PROVIDE $2.00 AT EACH MEETING FOR REFRESHMENTS. ANY TEAM
NOT REPRESENTED WILL BE FINED $10.00. ANY TEAM MISSING MEETINGS WILL BE NOTIFIED AND AT THE
NEXT MEETING A VOTE ON A COURSE OF ACTION WILL BE HELD.
RULE # 22 ANY PLAYER CAUSING DAMAGE DURING A MATCH WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO SEE
THAT THE DAMAGE IS CORRECTED AND BE SUBJECT TO A THREE-MATCH SUSPENSION. IF THE
DAMAGE IS NOT CORRECTED, THAT PERSON WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM THE LEAGUE UNTIL THE
OWNER IS SATISFIED.
RULE # 23 PLAYOFFS WILL BE HELD AT THE DISCRETION OF THE LEAGUE.
RULE # 24 PLAYERS MUST SHOOT 22 GAMES TO SHOOT IN PLAYOFFS.
RULE # 25 PLAYERS MUST SHOOT 40 GAMES TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR INDIVIDUAL AWARDS.
RULE # 26 PRICES FOR SHOOTERS AND GUESTS FOR THE CLAMBAKE WILL BE AT THE
DISCRETION OF THE CLAMBAKE COMMITTEE.
RULE # 27 ALL TROPHIES AND AWARDS WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE LEAGUE.
RULE # 28 TEAMS FOR DIVISIONS WILL BE PICKED AT THE DESCRETION OF THE LEAGUE
(If there are 16 teams the divisions will be determined by geographics).
RULE # 28A IF A 12 TEAM LEAGUE, THERE WILL BE TWO SIX TEAM DIVISIONS. EACH TEAM
WILL PLAY EACHOTHER TWICE, HOME AND AWAY FOR 22 WEEKS.
RULE # 28B IF A 14 TEAM LEAGUE THERE WILL BE TWO SEVEN TEAM DIVISIONS.
EACH TEAM WILL PLAY EACHOTHER TWICE, HOME AND AWAY, FOR 26 WEEKS.
RULE # 28C IF A 16 TEAM LEAGUE THERE WILL BE TWO EIGHT TEAM DIVISIONS. EACH TEAM WILL
PLAY TEAMS IN THEIR DIVISION TWICE, HOME AND AWAY, AND PLAY THE OTHER DIVISION ONCE,
HALF HOME, HALF AWAY, FOR 22 WEEKS.
RULE # 28D IF A REGIONAL AREA EXCEEDS 16 TEAMS THE
REGION WILL BE SPLIT INTO CONFERENCES.
EACH CONFERENCE WILL RUN INDEPENDENT OF ONE ANOTHER EACH WITH THEIR OWN
SCHEDULE.
TEAMS FOR EACH CONFERENCE WILL BE AT RANDOM OR GEOGRAPHICS DECIDED BY
MAJORITY VOTE.
EACH CONFERENCE WILL HAVE TWO DIVISIONS WITH TEAMS PICKED AT RANDOM.
RULE # 28E THE DIVISION CUTOFF FOR QUALIFICATION INTO
THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
WILL BE AT THE DESCRETION OF THE LEAGUE (NOTE: All teams will not qualify
No matter the size of the league there WILL be a cutoff).
RULE # 29 ONCE A GAME STARTS, AND YOUR TEAM SHOOTS, YOU CANNOT ADD A SHOOTER OR
CHANGE YOUR LINEUP. IF A PLAYER LEAVES A GAME EARLY FOR ANY REASON, THE INNINGS LEFT
HE WILL RECEIVE ZEROS. WHAT HE SHOT BEFORE HE LEFT WILL BE HIS TOTAL SCORE FOR THAT GAME.
** THE LEAGUE PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY/RECORDS KEEPER WILL DECIDE ON A
CASE BY CASE BASIS IF THAT GAME WILL COUNT TOWARDS THE SHOOTERS AVERAGE AND GAME COUNT.
RULE # 30 A SHOOTER MAY PULL DARTS FOR ANOTHER SHOOTER THAT HAS A PHYSICAL DISABILITY.
RULE # 31- THERE WILL BE NO TIES AT THE END OF REGULAR SEASON PLAY FOR DIVISION STANDING.
THE FIRST TIE BREAK WILL BE MOST WINS DURING REGULAR SEASON HEAD TO HEAD PLAY (INCLUDING
THE WIN FOR TOTAL POINTS); IF STILL TIED, THEN MOST DIVISION WINS; IF STILL TIED THEN COUNT THE
TOTAL POINTS DURING HEAD TO HEAD PLAY; IF STILL TIED THEN A GAME OF CHANCE (COIN TOSS).
RULE # 32 EACH TEAM
REPRESENTITIVE HAS ONE VOTE AT MEETINGS TO DECIDE ISSUES.
**ONLY THE TEAM REP. CAN BRING UP ISSUES AND PRESENT HIS TEAMS POSITION** IF THERE
IS A TIE, THE LEAGUE PRESIDENT WILL HAVE THE DECIDING VOTE.
RULE # 33 - ONCE THE SCORE SHEET IS AGREED UPON BY THE SHOOTING TEAMS, THEY ARE FINAL.
IF THE RECORDS KEEPER DISCOVERS A MISTAKE WHEN CHECKING THE SHEETS, THE WINS AND
LOSES WILL NOT BE CHANGED.
RULE # 34 THE LEAGUE PRESIDENT HAS THE AUTHORITY TO VETO ANY MOTION MADE BY A TEAM
REPRESENTITIVE AT A MEETING, IF HE FEELS THE ISSUE AT HAND IS DETREMENTAL TO THE LEAGUE.
THE MOTION WILL BE CANCELLED AND NO VOTE TAKEN.
RULE # 35 TEAM CAP. THE TOP FIVE AVERAGES OF A TEAM CANNOT EXCEED 190.0 POINTS,
(EXAMPLE: 190.0 OR LESS CAN SHOOT, WHILE 190.1 CANNOT). IF A TEAM CANNOT FIELD SHOOTERS
TO BE UNDER THE CAP THEY FORFIET.
RULE # 36 THE LOCATION FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AND
THE ALL-STAR MATCH WILL BE
PICKED AT RANDOM. EACH
TEAM WILL BE ENTERED. THE SPONSOR THAT
HELD THE PREVIOUS YEARS
MATCHES WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE DRAWING. THE SPONSOR OF BOTH MATCHES MUST
PROVIDE FOOD AND A SCORE KEEPER FOR THE MATCHES. THIS INCLUDES AVG. SHEET, DARTS, ECT.
RULE # 37 FEES.
A NEW TEAM SPONSOR IS REQUIRED TO PAY A $75 FRANCHISE FEE PLUS $25
GOOD FAITH. A RETURNING
TEAM SPONSOR IS REQUIRED TO PAY A $50 FRANCHISE FEE
PLUS $25 GOOD FAITH.
SPONSORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE $5 FOR THE AVERAGE KEEPER.
**THE $350 DUES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TEAM (NOT SPONSOR).
RULE # 37 A SHOOTER MAY CROSS THE KICK BOARD TO VISUALLY CHECK ANY DART.
IF THE SHOOTER TOUCHES THE BOARD
OR THE DART(S) THEY
RECEIVE A ZERO FOR THE
INNING (EVEN IF THEY HAVE DARTS IN THEIR HAND THAT THEY DID NOT SHOOT
YET).
